David PetersThe College of Medicine is offering a number of awards, prizes and opportunities for Spring and Summer 2013.  Here is a summary of what's coming up, in deadline order:


 

The Michael Pittillo essay prize for students

Our essay prize centres around a theme of self-care.  It is open to anyone studying to be a healthcare professional at university level.  Prizes include £500 and journal publication.  Closing date: Now closed for 2013, winners to be announced in June. Full details here.

 

College of Medicine Self-Care Award

This year we are offering a new award for patients who have been excellent at managing self-care for chronic illness, in partnership with their doctor.  You can apply yourself, but must also be nominated by your healthcare provider.  Now closed for 2013: winners to be announced in JuneFull details here.

 

Annual Conference 2013 Poster competition

The College of Medicine Conference 2013 includes a poster session open to students, clinicians, health practitioners and researchers. Poster authors will be invited to display and present their posters in a dedicated poster area during the conference. The informal and interactive setting of the poster session provides an opportunity for presenters to demonstrate their work with originality, quality, and clarity; to converse with conference participants; and to invite feedback from their peers.  Poster submission date: May 24th 2013Full details here.

 

College of Medicine Award for innovators in self-care

Our award for healthcare professionals who run projects which enable patients to practice better self-care is now open. The prize includes a professionally produced short film about your work and a place at our Annual Conference. Now closed for 2013: winners to be announced in June  Full details here.
