Professor the Baroness Finlay

Ilora Finlay is Professor of palliative medicine at Cardiff University School of Medicine, and a consultant at the Velindre cancer centre in Cardiff. A former Vice Dean of the university’s School of Medicine, she established the Marie Curie Hospice in Penarth in 1987. She is a past President of the Royal Society of Medicine. Baroness Finlay proposed the Bill to ban smoking in public buildings in Wales and took the Sunbeds Bill through the House of Lords to its enactment. She sits as cross-bench member of the House of Lords.
